TURA: Independent legislator from Baghmara constituency of South Garo Hills, Samuel Sangma, has slapped a legal notice on Garo Students’ Union leader from Mindikgre, Grenate M Sangma, accusing the latter of spreading false reports in social media.

In a legal notice served by the Baghmara legislator’s advocate, Mrs. N Gurung from Shillong, the GSU leader has been accused of putting up several posts on Facebook targeting the MLA and his family with corruption charges.

“The said allegations published in the face book uploaded by you is totally false, fabricated and is posted/uploaded with an intention to malign my client and his family members in general,” stated the legal notice slapped on the student leader.

The legislator is demanding from the student leader an unconditional apology and publication of the same in the newspapers within three days failing which his advocate has threatened to slap a defamation case.

“I have not given any false allegations against the legislator or his family. I have only filed several RTIs seeking information on the implementation of schemes and government projects in South Garo Hills,” said the GSU leader Grenate Sangma.
