SHILLONG: President of Seng Samla, Mawkneng village, Curtis Rani has filed an FIR with the SP, Crime Branch, East Khasi Hills on Monday against the office of the Executive Engineer Revenue Sub-Division-I, Lumjingshai and Sohiong Revenue Section, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL).

Addressing the press on Tuesday, Rani criticised the Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited (MeECL) for its dishonesty in framing the light bills at Sohiong Revenue Section in recent months.

He said, “The meter reading printed in the Bill and the actual reading at the meter has a very vast difference. The people are surprised as the electricity bills remain very high even after they have paid the bills.”

In this regard, he has apprised the matter to the MLA HDR Lyngdoh and MDC Samlin Malniang but to no avail.
