Mistake to lease out JNNURM buses to pvt parties: Ronnie

SHILLONG: Urban Affairs Minister, Ronnie V Lyngdoh has said it was a mistake to lease out the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) buses to private parties.
Lyngdoh said it was not known as to how the agreement was signed in which there were no provisions about the maintenance /repair of the buses.
“The agreement signed between the private parties and the state government will be examined,” he said.
The minister said the state government would also look into the matter of repair of some buses that were in poor condition.
He said he would conduct a surprise inspection of the buses.
