KHADC service rules to be amended

SHILLONG: The executive committee of Peoples’ Democratic Forum (PDF) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has decided to amend the Service Rules of the Council and implement the Service Rules of the state government.
This decision was taken in a meeting of the committee on Wednesday.
KHADC chief executive member PN Syiem told reporters that the meeting further decided that leaves would not only be extended to those suffering from tuberculosis but also include those suffering from cancer and leprosy and that the salary would be paid in full as per the Service Rules of the state government.
As for the gratuity paid to retired employees who have worked for 30 years and above, which amounts to Rs 2.50 lakh, the executive committee decided that employees who have worked for 10 years and above could avail gratuity which has been increased to Rs 7 lakh.
Employees who have worked 10 years and above can apply for family pension and the payment would be as per their posts while for those who have worked for 30 years, the payment will be in full after retirement.
Syiem said the executive committee also discussed on the 5th Pay Commission which it will implement once the state government also does the same.
