New Delhi:  In a major move to curb air pollution, the NGT (National Green Tribunal) on Thursday asked the pollution control boards of NCR to ban all industrial and construction activities in the region till November 14 and directed the Delhi government to sprinkle water on the hot spots using helicopters.
It also banned entry of trucks carrying construction material into the NCR.
The green court, in its order, directed the government to “track down all the hot spots with the PM10 more than 600 and spray water from helicopters or aircraft to tackle dust pollution across the city”.
“Take help from the fire brigade if necessary,” Justice Swatanter Kumar told the government.
The government has also been told to form a special team to check fire incidents. “Fire anywhere in the capital should be doused right away.”
“Ban all the industrial and construction work. No trucks carrying construction material should be allowed to enter the capital region,” Kumar said.(IANS)
