TURA: A’chik Matgrik, a welfare organisation of former ANVC (B) militants is set to promote ‘Bawil Dawil’ (a form of Housie) which was started in 2015 as a means to sustain its members.

“We want to take “Bawil Dawil” to a bigger area with tribal perspective. Bawil Dawil” has already being played in Tura in small scale but now we want to open it for our members living outside Tura. It is tribal version of tombola game with a bigger concept where sheets similar to tombola are booked and lucky winners get a prize. We want to help our former cadres to earn a living instead of being frustrated and depressed. We are making this public through media as this is our private project aimed to support our former members and the youths in general totally basing the project on tribal concept,” it said in a statement.

Stating that the project was already on, the organization said that its expansion would begin from this month itself.

“We have informed the authorities of our projects in our review meetings and will also take up the matter in the next review meeting of the Agreed Text monitoring committee as Rehabilitation packages are yet to be released to all,” A R Marak, the organizing Secretary of the organization added.
