SHILLONG: The state Congress leadership, which has so far played down the ongoing defection, gave vent to its vexation by pointing out the rebel legislators’ intention in writing.
A notice put up on the wall of Congress Bhavan in the city read, “Those who leave the party after getting benefit from the party, it is because of their own benefit but not for the development of the state of Meghalaya.”
Congress legislators who will be leaving the party are Rowell Lyngdoh (Mawkyrwat), Prestone Tynsong (Pynursla), Sniawbhalang Dhar (Nartiang), Ngaitlang Dhar (Umroi) and PN Syiem (Mawkyrwat).
There are speculations that Lyngdoh, Tynsong and the Dhar brothers will join National People’s Party (NPP) while Syiem has been projected by People’s Democratic Front (PDF) MDCs as their leader.
