TURA: A village Nokma of Rongding Awe in South Garo Hills was abducted by suspected GNLA militants late Sunday night.
An armed group of four unidentified men came to the house of the village chieftain Jonisol M Sangma (60) at Rongding Awe, 65 kms from Baghmara, and asked him to escort them. Since the nokma escorted the armed men he has not been found.
The village falls under Nangalbibra police station.
Garo Hills police suspect the hand of GNLA outfit in the abduction since another village nokma was abducted by the same group, 12 km away in West Khasi Hills, barely a week ago.
