SHILLONG: Robinus Syngkon, independent MLA from Mowkaiaw, withdrew his support from the Congress-led MUA government on Wednesday.
Speaker AT Mondal said he has received the letter of withdrawal from the legislator. “Now we will have to arrange a seat for him in the Opposition,” Mondal said.
On being asked about the long-pending session of the Assembly, Mondal said there was no intimation from the government on this. He, however, informed that the Assembly session has to be convened before December 12.
Responding to a query about the disqualification of the former parliamentary secretaries, Mondal said the governor has not yet informed the speaker’s office.
“The matter is directly related to the Office of the Governor,” Mondal said.
