SHILLONG: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) appreciated North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) for serving non-vegetarian food but said it would inspect the hospital to verify the same.
Earlier, HSPDP had claimed that NEIGRIHMS was not serving non-vegetarian food and raised the objection with Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
In a statement issued here, HSPDP also criticised the PRO of the hospital, KK Pandita, who denied that non-vegetarian food items were restricted from being served in the hospital premises.
NEIGRIHMS had clarified that there was no restriction and non-vegetarian food was necessary as a protein-rich diet for patients.
