NONGPOH: The Umsning block development officer conducted a spot inquiry into the implementation of MGNREGS at Kynjoinumran village on Tuesday based on the complaint of RTI activist John Mawphniang.
However, after a public hearing convened by BDO PS Tynsong, it was found that the claims were false and according to reports, there was smooth implementation of projects.
The RTI activist had alleged anomalies in the implementation of an irrigation project and land development in the village under MGNREGS. Mawphniang had also said the village employment council has forged signatures of job card holders and the wages are not paid to them.
After his claims were rendered baseless, Mawphniang expressed disappointment.
