SHILLONG: The founder of Art of Living, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, has harped on bringing peace in the North East while referring to the two AoL volunteers.
In his tweet, Shankar said, “Lam (Khroo Lamsalanki) gave up his political aspirations and became a teacher to serve society, especially the youth. He is so committed to bringing peace in North East.”
In another tweet, Ravi Shankar said, “Youth who have strayed into militancy
need a healing touch. They need assurance of justice and trust in peaceful coexistence. Art of Living volunteers have been helping youth shun violence and bringing them to the mainstream by providing skill-training and other means of livelihood.”
Lam may lose EC post
State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh said Lam had earlier quit the post of BJP secretary in-charge organisation.
“He is now an executive member of the party but since he had not attended the EC meetings for long, he may lose the post,” Lyngdoh said.
However, Lyngdoh said the party would examine the matter.
