SHILLONG: PN Syiem, the suspended Congress leader who revolted against Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, may resign from the party in the first week of December to join the newly formed People’s Democratic Front (PDF).
When asked, the chief executive member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council said on Thursday that December first week was a tentative date but he would “definitely join PDF” after quitting the Congress.
Earlier, PDF had given different versions on the role of Syiem in the new political entity. It was speculated that the suspended Congress leader would join the party earlier this year but the delay led to more speculations about his intention to join PDF.
Last year, the Congress suspended Syiem for three years for his alleged anti-party activities.
