‘Teaching a noble profession’

SHILLONG: Former Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University and Deputy Chief of Indian Army (retd) Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah on Saturday said teaching is the most important and noble profession in India as it shapes all other professions.
The speakers at University of Science and Technology Meghalaya said a university will always be known for the quality of its research. They were speaking on ‘Art of a good teacher’.
“For a student, it is very important to decide the course of life. Teachers have to guide students even by playing the role of a parent,” Shah said.
