Two vegetable sellers from NGH go missing

TURA: Two vegetable sellers from North Garo Hills who had gone to Guwahati by train to sell farm produce have gone missing.
Police said the duo went missing on Friday but the family reported the matter on Saturday evening.
Both Karhen Sangma (50) and Jebil Sangma (35) are from Bolmedang village under Kharkutta police station.
Quoting relatives, police said the duo had boarded a train to Guwahati from Dudhnoi on Friday and reached their destination. They also spoke to their family members and told them that would be back soon. The families became concerned after they did not return by midnight.
The district police are in a quandary over the case because they do not know from where to begin investigating as the duo went missing on their way.
“The train from Guwahati usually returns by 10 pm. Both Karhen and Jebil’s wives had gone to bed thinking they would return. However, when they did not return even by midnight they realised that something was wrong as attempts to contact them on the phone also failed,” Superintendent of Police in-charge JFK Marak said.
