CM inaugurates Sangknigre police station

BAGHMARA: Chief minister, Mukul M Sangma inaugurated the Sangknigre Police Station in Chokpot civil subdivision, the 17th of the 18 new police stations that the government had sanctioned, on Monday.
As many as 45 villages will fall under the jurisdiction of the newly inaugurated police station.
Speaking about the improvement and development of roads in the region, Sangma informed the gathering that the detailed project report (DPR) for NH-62 had been prepared while land acquisition for the purpose will take place soon.
The chief minister also informed that a new road from Dobogre in Chokpot to Gasuapara will soon be constructed, thereby facilitating better road connectivity in the region.
Addressing the gathering, Meghalaya director-general of police (DGP) S.B Singh said with the creation of police station at Sangknigre, most routes that militants take would be cut off.
He urged people to cooperate with the police to check militancy and anti-social elements in the region.
