Shillong: The chief executive officer, Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) has informed that according to directives of the Solid Waste Management as notified by the Ministry of Environment, event organisers must inform SMB at least three days in advance before
) organising any function in the city.
In a release issued here, the officer also stated that waste should be properly segregated and stored until it is collected by SMB or an authorized waste collector while the cost of collection and disposal of waste from such events shall be borne by the organisers.
