TURA: The landslide win by the BJP in Uttar Pradesh which swept the state’s civic polls defeating the Congress even in Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi constituency was celebrated by the party in Garo Hills.
The overwhelming victory of the BJP where it won 14 of the state’s 16 Municipal Corporations was hailed by the Garo Hills unit of the party.
The state vice president of the BJP, Rikman G. Momin while celebrating the victory said “for decades Congress had a stronghold position in both Amethi and Bareilly, held by the Gandhi family. Today they lost the civic elections in both seats badly”.
He said that the party would once again be celebrating another landslide victory of the BJP in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh when results are declared on December18.
“Wait and watch. We will form our government in both the states,” Momin claimed.
Joining the victory celebrations of the party, BJP East Garo Hills district president Rakesh N. Marak added that their celebration will not end there. “It will be followed in the year 2018 when we will emerge victorious and go on to form our first government in Meghalaya also. That time celebrations of our victory will take place in other states too,” he added.
