Housekeeping, support staff felicitated by USTM

GUWAHATI: In a recognition to the contribution of the housekeeping and support staff of the institution, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Monday showed a noble gesture by felicitating 100 workers at a felicitation ceremony organized in the varsity campus.  All the housekeeping and operational members were felicitated with gamocha and gifts by Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of USTM.

In a gathering of more than 1000 students, teachers and other staff members of the organisation, the USTM authorities displayed a gratitude to the housekeeping and support staff by showing respect to them for the work they do for the organisation.

Addressing the assembled gathering Hoque said, “The housekeeping and the operational staff are integral part of the family of the institute and we do care and respect them for their service. We want to extend our bonding of brotherhood and respect the dignity of labour.”

The felicitation ceremony was followed by a feast which was mainly to recognise the sincere and devoted service of the support staff. The function was participated by all the staff members of USTM.
