Frequent power cuts cause stir among PB residents

SHILLONG: The alleged shoddy functioning of the MeECL came to the fore after residents and shopkeepers in Police Bazaar complained about the frequent power cut by the MeECL.
This was as per a complaint letter shot off by the president of Police Bazaar locality, Ward no.9, Shankar Lal Singhania to the principal secretary of Power, MS Rao.
“Not a single day is passed when there is no power cut at least 7-8 times without any prior notice,” Singhania stated the electrical supply at Police Bazaar which is widely in the state as a commercial hub.
He has requested Rao to look into the matter
