Elements within trying to topple govt: Mukul

SHILLONG: Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma has said that a “few elements” within the ruling apart from the Opposition have tried to shake and topple the government.
Speaking to media persons after holding a meeting of the CLP and MUA here on Thursday in view of the winter session, Sangma rued the fact that sometimes people who are from the government try to shake the government.
“In the recent past, there have been nonstop attempts to shake and topple the government by few members of the Opposition including few members from the conglomerate of the ruling,” he said.
Sangma also slammed the Opposition by maintaining that in every session it tried to shake the government, which is not a new phenomenon in the state.
Meanwhile, MLAs supporting the government have been asked to remain in the station during the session.
The meeting also discussed how to tackle the strategy of the Opposition besides dealing with floor management exercise.
The meeting also reviewed the various developmental programmes initiated by the government and how the programmes can be best initiated.
