4 accused held in cop murder case

TURA: North Garo Hills police have on Thursday arrested four of the alleged prime accused in the murder of a havildar of the 3rd IRBn battalion on December 4.
All the accused were nabbed from the cement manufacturing town of Damas in North Garo Hills.
One of the prime accused arrested in the murder case happens to be the former president of Damas Youth Forum, Manseng Ch Momin (35).
He stands accused of being part of the gang that assaulted the havildar, Samson D Sangma, leading to his death.
Manseng who was once the village sordar and president, has since been removed.
The other three accused have been identified as Leling Marak (24), Grimchi Shira (35) and Rongrik Marak (22).
The victim was assaulted by the four arrested men over a family dispute allegedly involving his marital status and the injuries sustained were so severe that he had to be rushed to Guwahati for advanced medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
