Two surrender over burning of ritual house

SHILLONG: Two people have surrendered claiming that they were involved in the burning down of the ritual house of Sengbah ki Nongshad Nongkhein at Baniun, Upper Shillong, on December 5.
The two, Wanbor Kshiar (29) and Andy Marbaniang (21), from Sadew village told reporters that they were in an inebriated state when they burnt down the house completely. “We have committed a crime and we ask for forgiveness,” they said.
Pranshon Jala, Vice President of Sengbah ki Nongshad Nongkhein, expressed disappointment at the incident but was glad that the two confessed to the crime.
They were handed over to police as the Sengbah ki Nongshad Nongkhein filed an FIR on December 7.
It may be reminded that the incident took place around 10 pm on December 5.
