SHILLONG: The mother of a 14-year-old rape victim filed an FIR at Jowai police station saying the man who raped her minor daughter was stalking her.
Lovely Chyrmang, the accused who is from Marjai in West Jaintia Hills, raped the girl when she was 13 years.
The mother said in her complaint that the accused has violated the condition of his bail and is coercing the minor girl to change her statement in the court where a case is going on. The woman said in the FIR that she and her husband was out of town on December 10 when the accused came around 8 pm in a car. He then called the girl outside on the pretext that he had to give a parcel sent by her mother. She was forced to enter the car.
The girl became pregnant after she was raped by the man. But she gave birth to a stillborn. However, the local church suspended her and her parents had gone to talk to church elders.
The complainant alleged that the accused was trying to influence the minor victim by promising to settle down with her and also embraced her.
The mother has demanded action against Chyrmang as per the law and cancellation of his bail.
