Teens held for Nokma son-in-law kidnap

TURA: Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the abduction of the son-in-law of a Nokma in East Garo Hills on December 10.
Janseng N Sangma (29), son in-law of the Nokma of Bangong Singwegre village, was abducted from his house around 8 pm on December 10 by a group of 4-5 masked miscreants who were carrying daggers and kukris, East Garo Hills police said. The miscreants barged into Sangma’s house and dragged him out. Soon after, Sangma’s wife received a text message from the kidnappers demanding a ransom of Rs 50 lakh, the police added.
A police team launched search operations in the nearby jungles and arrested Sengnang M Marak (18) and Robi M Marak (19). Both the suspects are from Rongap Mikgilsimgre village in Songsak.
The duo has confessed to their involvement in the case and also revealed the names of others, police said.
