SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills Pre Primary Teachers Association on Thursday sent a reminder to the director of school education and literacy regarding implementation of the order of the High Court of Meghalaya for providing benefits to pre-primary school teachers.
In the reminder, Thomy R Marak, secretary of the association, said the order of the High Court should be implemented without further delay with payment of arrears or else, they would again appeal before the court against for redressal of their grievances. A single bench of the High Court of Meghalaya earlier this year had directed the education department to give the pre-primary school teachers and primary school teachers the same benefits. Following the order, the director of school education and literacy had filed an intra-court appeal against the order of the court after five months of the earlier order and the appeal was dismissed.
