SHILLONG: Four independents and one NCP member are set to join the Congress to contest from the party in the 2018 polls.
A party source said on Sunday that besides the Independents David Nongrum (Mawryngkneng), Michael Sangma (Tikrikilla), Samuel Sangma (Baghamara) and Brigady Marak (Bajengdoba), NCP member from Mendipathar Marthon Sangma will also join the party to contest the polls.
The delay in finalising the candidates by the Congress is also attributed to the delay on the part of these legislators to join the party.
