TURA: As the annual celebration of the birth of Lord Jesus Christ on the Christmas Day draws near, Church elders have called upon the faithful to welcome the holy event by spreading the message of love and hope.
“There is no joy without good news. Birth of Jesus Christ brings good news of great joy to all his people. As we celebrate the birthday of Christ let all the people be blessed with his abundant love, joy, hope and peace,” said Reverend Namseng R Marak of the Baptist Church while giving this year’s message of Christmas.
The Bishop of Tura, Rt. Rev. Andrew R Marak in his message for Christmas said that the birth of Christ is a joy for all mankind because the Lord came as a human being to be amongst us.
Quoting from the Holy Bible and a chapter from Luke (Luke 2:10-12) wherein an angel appears to a group of shepherds on a cold winter night Bishop Andrew quoted, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
He also asked whether we as believers are following the teachings of Christ.
“Do we think of Christ being with us every day of our lives? Are we respecting one another in life? If we walk in the path of the Lord then he will surely guide us and we must open our hearts to Lord Jesus not just on Christmas Day but every single day of our lives,” urged Bishop Andrew.
