SHILLONG: National BJP president, Amit Shah and Union home minister, Rajnath Singh will visit Meghalaya as part of the party’s election campaign next month.
BJP election in-charge of Meghalaya, Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam will arrive in the state in the first week of January to review the poll preparedness again.
“Alphons will review the poll preparedness in the state in the first week of January and chalk out programmes for the arrival of the central leaders to the state,” state BJP president, Shibun Lyngdoh said.
Lyngdoh said the aim of the BJP is bring all the states country under the party. As of today, only four states of the country are not under BJP rule.
Joining the party chorus for Congress mukt (Congress free) states, he told The Shillong Times, “The aim is to have Congress-free India and only four states are under Congress rule-Meghalaya, Mizoram, Karnataka and Punjab will within a very short period come under the map of NDA.”
