TURA: Miscreants broke into a classroom of Janapriya Higher Secondary School at Chibinang in Phulbari in West Garo Hills this week and set important documents on fire prompting police to investigate the incident.
According to school authorities, the miscreants entered through a window with a weak grill on Wednesday night and after going through the materials inside a closet set them on fire.
The fire destroyed school ledgers, documents including test papers and a table.
The night watchman of the school first noticed the fire and alerted police.
This is the second time in less than a year that the school became a target of arson. West Garo Hills police have begun an investigation into the incident.
