Accident
On December 26 around 12.45pm, one three-wheeled goods carrier (ML-08E-7029) lost control and overturned on the road at Malchapara area in South West Garo Hills. One of the vehicle’s occupants sustained injuries and was transported to the Hospital while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
Assault
On December 23, Maran Biam lodged a complaint stating that on one Wickly Sungoh assaulted Dalat Biam and Victor Hinge at Nongbah village in West Jaintia Hills.
Body recovered
In the early hours of December 26, the body of Akter Miah (around 30-35 yrs) was recovered from a stream at Kalaicharpara in South West Garo Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver was sent to the Hospital for PM examination.
One killed
On December 26 around 1.45pm, Sengbera G. Momin (16) boarded one bus (ML-07A-2238) from Rongjeng. However, on reaching at Dobu Rongmu in East Garo Hills, she fell off the moving bus. As a result, she sustained injuries and was transported to the nearest Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Drowning
On December 23 around 3pm, one Ajay Chetia drowned while swimming in Mawkhrang River in West Khasi Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed and the body was handed over to the relatives.
Fire
On December 26, a fire broke out at Nondein, Nongstoin. Five rolls of Optical Fiber Cover belonging to BSNL were destroyed.
On December 25 around 10 pm, a fire broke out at Gupta’s Scrap godown in Tura Bazar. As a result, the godown was completely gutted. fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Girl missing
On December 23, Durles Momin lodged a complaint stating that one five year old girl was found missing from Ajasiram village, North Garo Hills.
Theft
Ankit Botha of Tata Sky office, Police Bazar, Shillong lodged a complaint that on December 25 around 1.15pm, unknown miscreants stole a DJ system from the office.
D. Pyrbot, Headman of Chutwakhu, Jowai lodged a complaint that on December 24, one Sun Bareh stole various items from the house of June Nongpluh and H. Passah at Chutwakhu in Jowai. Police have arrested the accused.
