TURA: A trader from Assam who was abducted by a criminal gang on December 31 last, was released near the Garo Hills border, at Kukurkata, after the gang’s plans of concealing the victim inside Garo Hills was foiled by villagers who gave a hot chase.

The trader from Krishnai town near Dudhnoi in Goalpara district of Assam, Samad Ali, was abducted by a three-member gang who tried to keep him in custody inside North Garo Hills region.
