Accident
On January 4 around 6.50am, a truck with Punjab registration number driven by Bijay Kumar (55) overturned at Mawtnum in Ri Bhoi. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Theft
Amir Uddin complained to the Ummulong police beat house stating that on January 2, three armed and unidentified miscreants in an unknown vehicle stopped the truck (AS-21C-5499) which he was travelling in at Jowai bypass, robbed him of Rs. 35,000 and fled. No formal complaint was filed.
Ashish Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that in October 2017, one Raj Chettri of Happy Valley took his scooty (ML-05L-5117) and has not returned it till date.
Assault
Linus Ksoo lodged a complaint that on January 2, four women from Mynso village assaulted a female shopkeeper at Kyndong Tuber village in West Jaintia Hills. The accused were apprehended by the locals.
Threat
Argentina Dkhar lodged a complaint that on December 30, around 8pm, one Herendra Phawa assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences at Iongkaluh village in East Jaintia Hills.
Fake currency
Sngawbha Phawa of Pynthorsale village in East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on December 29 around 7.30pm, one Earnest Syngkon (24) was found using fake currency notes. Three notes with a face value of Rs. 2,000 each were recovered from his possession.
