NCP to name Meghalaya state unit president next week

SHILLONG: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will announce its new State unit president next week.

The party is yet to have a new president after its lone MLA Sanbor Shullai was removed as the state party unit   president last month. Shullai later joined the BJP.

Meanwhile, NCP Working president, Vijay Raj said that party’s senior leader Praful Patel would visit the state this month. He is scheduled to visit Shillong as well as Tura.

The details of his visit to the state will be finalised on Monday.
