Loan not paid
Lamkyrmen Pakma lodged a complaint that on December 4, 2012, Rajendra Prasad took a loan of Rs. 10 lakh from the Meghalaya Rural Bank, Khliehriat Branch but has failed to repay the same till date.
Son assaults mother
On January 5 around 6 am, Biangmi Lapasam (24) assaulted his mother Yoris Lapasam (44) with a machete. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Police arrested the accused.
Accident
On January 5 around 7. 30 pm, a scooty (ML-05Q-0599) ridden by Pawltein Khoyal (38) dashed against a Maruti Alto car (ML-05H-9319) driven by Thasomoai Singha (19) at Happy Valley, Shillong. As a result, the rider of the scooty sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital.
Fake challans found
K Swer, Assistant Mines Royalty Inspector, I/c Mawpun DMR Check Gate in West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on January 4 afternoon, thirteen coal laden trucks were detained for using fake DMR challans. Matter is under investigation.
Theft
Borin Shadap lodged a complaint that on January 3 around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole music systems from his vehicles (ML-04A-7823 & ML-11-2323) which were parked in his compound at Dkhiah East in East Jaintia Hills.
Assault
Lubendro Sangma lodged a complaint that on December 31, 2017 around 11 pm, Silnang Sangma of Nongbak A’pal village in East Garo Hills assaulted Hisitha Sangma.
One stabbed
Joshua Hrangkawl lodged a complaint that on December 31, 2017 John R Marak of Ringrey, Tura stabbed Robert Hrangkawl with a sharp object causing injuries to him.
Violation of NGT
Ri Bhoi police on Saturday registered FIRs against overloaded coal trucks found plying in violation of NGT guidelines and MV Act under Byrnihat police station. The trucks were detected during a joint checking by the magistrate and Ri Bhoi police. Further over 30 coal trucks were detected plying without challan in Umiam were turned back.
