SHILLONG: With the sporadic incidents of attack on Christians in Madhya Pradesh and other states, BJP leader and Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons termed it as condemnable but added that the Prime Minister and the country cannot be blamed for this.
“The incidents are deplorable and I condemn this, but you cannot judge the country and the Prime Minister by these isolated incidents,” Alphons told reporters on Saturday.
The minister said there are sporadic shooting incidents in the US, Paris and London but these countries cannot be judged by the isolated incidents.
He also said after the formation of the BJP-led government at the Centre, there were apprehensions that churches will be torched but there was not a single incident of torching of or stone pelting at churches.
