SHILLONG: UDP MLA Paul Lyngdoh laid the foundation stone of the Cultural Center cum Community Hall of the Dorbar Shnong of Qualapatty for the second time on Saturday.
The first foundation stone was laid in 2012 and the hall was supposed to be complete in the same year.
This time, Lyngdoh assured that the project would be complete as the sanction has been received from the Arts and Culture Department and PWD. It will then be handed over to the Dorbar Shnong.
Recalling another incomplete project, the MLA said 15 years ago, a water supply project did not see the light of day due to opposition from PT Sawkmie who was then the MLA of Mawlai constituency.
The water supply project was at Lum Kshaid in Mawprem for which the foundation stone was laid and Rs 35 lakh was sanctioned by the PHE Department to supply water from the Mawpdang source.
Lyngdoh asserted that the electorate should be wise enough to choose their representatives and not to reduce politics to mere business.
