AAP announces four candidates

SHILLONG: Aam Aadmi Party has announced the names of four candidates who will contest the Assembly elections in the state next month.
Addressing reporters here on Monday, state president of AAP, Wanshuwa Nongtdu said the party would field Wonder Lapang (Umsning), Peter Dohkrut (Mawlai), Dedrict Binong (Nongpoh) and Doross Ramsiej (Mawkyrwat) in the polls.
Expressing confidence of a positive result in the Assembly elections, Nongtdu said the party would contest in 35 seats.
He further said more candidates have expressed their willingness to join the party. The state party president said the second list would be out soon even as he appealed to candidates to come forward with their names.
“We don’t have famous names but we do have good retired officers and qualified persons with us”, Nongtdu said. Referring to other parties, he said Congress and BJP would not make much impact while National People’s Party might win a few seats.
