SHILLONG: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may campaign in three regions of the state after the announcement of the date for the Assembly elections.
State BJP leader Shibun Lyngdoh said on Tuesday that a proposal was sent to the Prime Minister for his address in three regions, Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills.
“It is at the level of proposal and nothing has been finalised. Moreover, the selection of venue will be known only after confirmation from the Prime Minister,” he added.
The Prime Minister had addressed a rally at Polo Grounds on December 16 preparing the BJP to face the polls.
Recently, the rally at Tikrikilla addressed by BJP national president Amit Shah had attracted large crowd.
Lyngdoh said other state BJP leaders and ministers will visit Meghalaya to campaign for the party after the announcement of the date.
