M’laya students participate in Sivagiri pilgrimage

SHILLONG: An 18-member contingent from Meghalaya participated in the annual Sivagiri pilgrimage at Varkala, Kerala, from December 31 to January 1. The contingent was sponsored by Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre.
The contingent presented Daivadasakam, the Universal Prayer, composed originally in Malayalam by Sree Narayana Guru and translated into Khasi by former Chief Secretary HWT Syiem. Daivadasakam has been translated into hundred different languages, including Garo and Jaintia, all over the world. The contingent along with the president and general secretary of the centre were felicitated by the management of Sivagiri pilgrimage.
