Theft
On Friday around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle from Lumkshaid locality in Mawprem.
Mukesh Kumar Ray lodged a complaint that on January 7 around 8.30 pm, one truck loaded with 533 cases of Nestle goods met with an accident at Umtyra (EJH). However, unknown miscreants stole the goods before police arrived.

Hit and run
On January 10, a truck (number unknown) knocked down Monday Suiam (32 years) near the Old Petrol Pump in Mawryngkneng. The victim sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to hospital.

5 men demolish toll gate, steal Rs 3 lakh
NONGSTOIN: The manager of a private company lodged an FIR on Friday alleging that five persons demolished a toll gate at Miangmawdar village in West Khasi Hills last month.
FM Syiemlieh, the manager of A.C.Gare Private Road Ltd, said in his complaint lodged with Shallang police that Lindro Puwein, Filtar Riangshiang, Janai Synshiang, Phyrnai Nongbri and Tobias Nongmin forcefully broke the toll gate of Andrew Charles Gare on December 27 last and threatened to kill a labourer there on January 2.
The same group demolished the reconstructed toll gate and took away Rs 3 lakh and other documents from the labourer.
They were also planning to burn down his JCB machine. The police have registered a case under Section 395 for dacoity.
