Minor girls from Assam rescued

SHILLONG: Two minor girls from Guwahati were handed over to their families by the Meghalaya Police on Saturday.
The girls, both of same age (13), fled their home over a fight with the family.
On Friday, at 10.30 pm, Gasper Jones Hynniewta, a driver of tourist vehicle (ML-05N-3378) handed over the girls to Mawlai Police Station.
The girls boarded the vehicle from Khanapara and on reaching Mawiong, all passengers got off the vehicle except for these two girls.
On questioning, the girls said they ran away from home in Ganeshguri, Guwhati.
Both of them were sent for medical examination before being handed over to the family.
