No PDF candidate from Garo Hills

SHILLONG: The People Democratic Front (PDF) will not field any candidate from Garo Hills region in the Assembly polls since as not a single candidate has approached the party for ticket.
PDF Chairman, Pynshngain N Syiem after the general conference meeting held here on Saturday said that the party has announced as many as 22 candidates from Khasi and Jaintia Hills region and another list of four candidates will be released soon. 
The party is keen to contest from all the 36 seats in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region.  
Syiem informed that the objective of the meeting was to have an interaction with all the candidates and discussed on the agendas that the party will highlight during its campaigns.  
When asked, he said that the People Democratic Front had addressed many issues in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council especially with regards to the problems related to the headmen and encroachment by the MUDA. 
 “The PDF have come out at the right time as an option for the people of the state,” Syiem said.
