Woman assaulted, no arrests yet

SHILLONG: No arrests have been made with regard to an assault incident that took place at Polo on January 9.
A lady, Syrpailin Daju resident of Nongmensong filed an FIR against Storian Kharjana (illegal liquor vendor at Polo) and her children alleging that they assaulted her on the evening of January 9 between 8:30 and 9:00 pm.
Daju alleged that Kharjana along with her children assaulted her with a knife, hammer in which she also claimed that her gold jewellery was snatched while Rs 10000 was stolen from her bag.
The incident happened at a time when Daju was waiting for her husband at Polo Bridge. She stated that she had no hint as to why Kharjana assaulted her.
