NONGPOH: Governor Ganga Prasad on Wednesday invited villagers of Umktieh in Ri Bhoi district and announced that Raj Bhavan would provide sharp cutters and one cow each to 41 households which are producing Berkley compost.
Prasad, who was addressing a gathering at a programme organised by the Bhoirymbong C&RD Block in the village, said he was moved by the hospitality of the villagers.
Prasad expressed his concern about the problem faced by the farmers in respect to cutting of grass, hay and also in respect of generating enough cow dung for making Berkley compost. He promised to give them sharp cutters and cows and urged them to properly utilise and maintain the benefits bestowed upon them for their prosperity.
Speaking on education, the governor said there should be no dropouts. He urged them to send their children to school.
