SHILLONG: Supporters of People’s Democratic Front (PDF) from Kmawanrum Unit under Mawsynram constituency quit the party to lend their support to Congress ticket aspirant, HM Shangpliang.
The supporters alleged that former MLA of Mawsynram, PN Syiem made false promises which prompted them to join Congress on Saturday evening.
They were welcomed by Mawsynram Block Congress Committee (MBCC), president, Khelor Sing Kharnaior and other members.
The former supporters of PDF have also sent their resignation letter to president of the unit.
