BJP CEC takes time to decide on poll candidates

SHILLONG:  The first meeting of the Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party to finalise the names of probable candidates for the upcoming Meghalaya polls was held in New Delhi on  Friday.

BJP State president, Shibun Lyngdoh however said that the  names of the candidates could not be finalised in one sitting  and  the CEC would meet again next week probably again probably on January 30  to finalise the names.

The CEC meeting of the party was attended by   top leaders of the party including some  leaders from state BJP.

It may be mentioned that the   BJP is taking its best shot to form the Government here in  Meghalaya and   the party has recently got a boost in the state when four sitting MLAs joined the party.
