SHILLONG: Apart from Jowai, AICC President Rahul Gandhi will visit Shillong and Tura on January 30, Tuesday during his visit to the State ahead of the Assembly polls to meet top leaders of the party.Rahul will first land in Tura for a meeting with local leaders, would subsequently fly to Jowai and later head for Shillong on the evening of the same day.
Although Rahul will not address any public meeting in the State capital, he is scheduled to meet the Chief Minister, senior leaders like DD Lapang, MPCC President Celestine Lyngdoh and other functionaries, district presidents and even some block-level Congress committee members.
During his visit, Rahul is expected to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming polls, the need for unity in the Congress and the programmes and policies of the State government.
He will stay in Shillong for a day and may even address the media the next day.
