SHILLONG: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Chief Executive Member (CEM), P N Syiem has said that his rival candidate, HM Shangpliang in Mawsynram might have conflicts with him but the use of sharp and lethal weapons to make an attempt to murder someone should not be encouraged.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Syiem said that his brother’s condition was improving and he would be released from the hospital very soon

“The gypsy which the miscreants used in the attack is very much the   gypsy used by the Congress workers,” he said, adding that the people who attacked his brother are the main party workers   of the Congress.

“It seems there was a political connection to it, though I can’t say much as police investigation is on,” he added

He also said that his brother who stays in Dangar can speak Bengali very fluently and he can carry along the people in those areas to go along with the PDF

Kynpham N Syiem, the elder brother of Pynshngain N Syiem, was stabbed by assailants   recently at Dangar, a border area in Mawsynram constituency.

The two assailants were identified as Kyllang Thongni and Pusterwel Disiar and they surrendered before the police last week.

A case has been registered under Section 307 of IPC (attempt to murder), Section 326 of IPC (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and Section 34 IPC (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
