Rahul Gandhi meets party men at Jowai in poll-bound Meghalaya

JOWAI: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday held a meeting with party workers and leaders from Jaintia Hills area of the poll-bound Meghalaya immediately after his arrival at Jowai at around 3.30 P.M. His arrival was delayed by over one and a half hour as he had to travel by road to Jowai after his arrival in Shillong.

The meeting of the AICC president at Jowai was held at Indoor Stadium, Chutwakhu Socio and Cultural Club, and attended by party workers and few supporters of Congress candidates from East and West Jaintia Hills districts. Media persons were not allowed inside the hall where he meeting was held with party workers and leaders.

Gandhi will hold another meeting with partymen in Shillong later tonight before he grace a peace concert to be held at Polo Ground in the  city to formally launch the party’s electioneering in the hill state.
